High school baseball: State College shuts out Central Dauphin East to remain unbeaten

From CDT staff reportsApril 14, 2014

— State College may have a young baseball squad but it is a hungry group looking for wins.

The Little Lions (5-0) kept their unbeaten season alive by holding Central Dauphin East to just two hits in a 5-0 victory on Monday.

“It was a pitcher’s day,” State College coach Bill Tussey said. “It was so windy and that made it tough for the offense. But, overall it was a nice solid game all around.”

Bailey Ishler started on the mound for the Little Lions pitching five solid innings with eight strikeouts. Ishler gave up one hit and walked one batter.

From there, Oliver Dailey and Kenneth Craig took over keeping the Panthers’ offense silent.

Caleb Walls led State College with three RBIs while Craig and Calvin Sichler added one each.
