High school baseball: Penns Valley falls to Tyrone

— Tyrone broke open a tie game with six runs in its final two at-bats to knock off Penns Valley 8-2 on Monday.

Tristan Lingafelt led the Golden Eagles’ 16-hit attack with five singles and drove in two runs. Coy Focht also plated two runs.

Adam DeGarmo had two hits and drove in a run for the Rams (0-3), who were held to four hits. Cameron Tobias allowed just two runs, walked two and struck out four in five innings.

“We’re not going win if we’re not going to hit,” Penns Vallley coach Chuck Romig said. “Our pitchers are going out there feeling like they have be perfect.”
