Penn State softball: Nittany Lions sweep past Bucknell

— The Penn State softball team swept a doubleheader with Bucknell at Beard Field on Wednesday night, winning 6-3 in the first game and 10-5 in the second.

Marlaina Laubach pitched a complete game in the first game, striking out six and allowed three runs for the win. The Nittany Lions (14-23) scored in each of the first four innings to build a 4-1 lead and added two runs in the sixth. Lexi Knief went 3-for-4, and Shelby Miller finished 3-for-3 to lead the Nittany Lions.

In the second game, Penn State scored five runs in the bottom of the first inning and added four more in the second to take a 9-0 lead. Karlie Habitz went 3-for-4 with three RBIs, and Miller was 2-for-3 with four RBIs.

Christy Von Pusch, Marissa Diescher and Macy Jones combined to clinch the sweep. Von Pusch picked up the win, allowing two runs in 2 1/3 innings.
