High school volleyball: State College falls in 4 to Bishop Guilfoyle

— Parker Thompson had a busy night in the back row, but Bishop Guilfoyle prevailed in four sets 26-28, 25-16, 25-18, 25-19 Wednesday night.

The senior libero collected 33 digs to pace the defense in the long match.

The Little Lions (2-5) had the offense paced by eight kills each from Clark Handel, Jeff Podolski and Deniz Demirci, with Demirci adding eight digs. Handel and Peyton Stark each had 2 1/2 blocks, Andrew Groves gave out 16 assists and Brandon Kuruzovich had 11 assists.
