High school softball: Central rallies past Bellefonte

— Central used a pair of four-run innings to rally past Bellefonte 11-6 Wednesday in Mountain League play.

Down 5-3, the Scarlet Dragons took the lead on a Janine Snyder two-run single and an Ashley Smith two-run double in the fourth inning. They then solidified the advantage with four more in the sixth, highlighted by a Kerry Walters pinch-hit three-run home run.

Smith finished with a 3-for-4 day, and Lexi Ritchey earned the win.

The Lady Red Raiders got RBI singles from Jenna Ault in the second and third innings and a two-run single from Angela Capparelle in the second to highlight their scoring. They also had the bases loaded with no outs in the seventh, but managed only one run.

Stevie Confer took the loss.
