High school tennis: State College pounds Gettysburg, CD East for doubleheader sweep

From CDT staff reportsApril 17, 2014

— State College swept a doubleheader, notching wins against Gettysburg and Central Dauphin East at East Pennsboro High School on Wednesday.

It didn’t matter that the Little Lions (11-0) had three of their top players out of the lineup. State College didn’t miss a beat and dropped Gettysburg 5-0, winning every match in straight sets. Dan Shull, Matt Wherley and Sam Wherley picked up singles wins while the teams of Matt Bristol and Luke Plowden and Shreyas Radhakrishna and Dan Yoon added doubles victories over the Warriors.

Shull and both Wherleys were in the lineup again and swept their singles matches against CD East as well. Bristol and Plowden and Caleb Kroeker and Tyler Harpster won their doubles matches to complete the shutout.
