Our View | Thumbs down

April 18, 2014

Thumbs down: To former Reliance Fire Company treasurer Ryan Allen Jones, charged with forgery, theft and receiving stolen property — all felonies — for allegedly writing more than $14,000 in checks to himself earlier this year. He also faces a bad checks misdemeanor.

Thumbs down: To District Attorney Stacy Parks Miller and District Judge Steve Lachman, chased from a courtroom Wednesday during a heated debate over bail in a State College stabbing case. District Judge Tom Jordan told Lachman and Parks Miller to take it outside.

Thumbs down: To a series of bomb threats at Philipsburg-Osceola schools, including one at the middle school Thursday. Such pranks are expensive for schools and communities and disruptive to teachers and classes. Police and the school district should not treat the incidents lightly.
