Bellefonte hammers Tyrone

The Lady Red Raiders had a quick afternoon.

Bellefonte (7-2) needed just three innings to pepper Tyrone 15-0 on 12 hits in a game shortened by the mercy rule. Meanwhile, Tara Baney pitched three innings of one-hit ball and struck out five. The Golden Eagles sent just 10 hitters to the plate.

“I thought our pitching and defense did a really nice job,” Bellefonte coach Gregg Kolhepp said. “We felt very good with that part of the game.”

Eight Bellefonte batters notched hits while 12 Lady Red Raiders scored runs.

The victory got Bellefonte back into the win column after the Lady Red Raiders’ five-game win streak was snapped by Central on Wednesday.
