High school softball: Bald Eagle Area thumps Huntingdon

— A long ball from Mikayla Smith was enough to spark Bald Eagle Area to a 15-6 win over Huntingdon on Thursday.

Smith led off the top of the third and blasted the only home run of the game. It sparked a nine-run inning for the Lady Eagles and began a rout.

Haley Giedroc, McKenzie Proctor, Tylor Yarrison, Olivia Andrews, Morgan Nyman and Morgan Peters all lent RBIs for BEA. Sydney Shultz earned the win with seven strikeouts and surrendered four runs on six hits through 5 1/3 innings.
