High school girls’ track and field: Penns Valley fourth, Bald Eagle Area 12th at Lock Haven Invite

LOCK HAVEN Penns Valley had 14 individuals record top-10 finishes to help the Lady Rams take fourth place at the Lock Haven Invitational on Friday.

Bald Eagle Area’s Maddie Cingle had the top individual finish, winning the 2,000-meter steeplechase with a time of 8:24.86. The Lady Eagles finished 12th in a field of 22.

Bald Eagle Area’s Jordan Gile finished second in the javelin (107-11.50) and seventh in the discus (88-1.75). Sarah VanCise was seventh in the shot put (29-10.25), and Alyssa Butterworth placed seventh in the 800 (2:33.78).

For Penns Valley, Destiny Andrus finished fourth in the 100 (13.47), fifth in the 200 (27.92) and sixth in the 400 (1:03.47). Anna Bair placed eighth in the 100 (13.62) and ninth in the 200 (28.58). Naomi Olsen-Zelden was second in the 100 hurdles (17.73) and fourth in the 300 hurdles (51.84). Chelsea Emel finished second in the shot put (36-2.25) and third in the discus (106-2.75). Kylie Orndorff was fourth in the javelin (101-9.50) and sixth in the shot put (30-4.25).

Other top-10 finishers for Penns Valley: Nicole Bienert (second in the discus); Natalie Hoffman (seventh in the javelin) and Alyssa Limbaugh (10th in the 1,600).
