High school girls’ track and field: Penn Valley takes tri-meet

— Destiny Andrus won three events and Chelsea Emel finished first in two to help Penns Valley edge Bellefonte 76-73 and beat Central 107-33 on Thursday.

Andrus finished first in the 100-meter dash (13.4), the 400 (1:04.2) and the 200 (28.8). Emel took the shot put (34-2) and discus (108-1). Naomi Olsen-Zelman won the 110 hurdles (17.6) and Kylie Orndorf won the javelin (96-9).

Bellefonte’s Anya Hoaglund finished first in the 1,600-meter (5:55) and 3,200-meter (12:36). Other individual winners for Bellefonte: Olivia Spratt (58.5 in the 300 hurdles); Alexis Franks (2:44 in the 800); Summer Shirey (31-6 in the triple jump); Rachel White (4-8 in the high jump) and Kaitlin Rogers (7-6 in the pole vault).
