A former College Township resident was charged with 91 felony counts in connection with the rape and abuse of a child over four years, according to court documents.

Stephen Davis Lucas Jr., was arraigned Monday before District Judge Stephen Lachman on 18 counts of rape, 10 counts of involuntary deviate sexual intercourse, nine counts of statutory sexual assault, nine counts of sexual assault, two counts of aggravated indecent assault, 40 counts of indecent assault, one count of corruption of minors, one count of endangering the welfare of children and one count of sexual abuse of children, all felonies.

He also was charged with 40 counts of indecent exposure, a misdemeanor.

According to court documents, Lucas lived in the same building and sometimes supervised the unrelated child. The abuse began when the child was 8 years old and continued until May 2013, when she told her mother, who subsequently contacted police.

Police said the abuse included unwanted contact and forcible sexual assault as well as showing the child pornography and exposing himself to her. Court documents claim he took photographs of the rape and had pictures of naked children as young as 6 on his computer.

The victim told police that Lucas was “escalating in his pressure to have repeated sexual intercourse with her,” according to court reports. Police recovered evidence from the defendant’s bedroom, and Lucas’ DNA was recovered from the child’s bedsheets.

Lucas was incarcerated at Centre County Correctional Facility in lieu of $250,000 bail. Court documents claim he is a flight risk and has threatened to harm himself.
