Bellefonte Borough adopts ordinance limiting door-to-door solicitation

From CDT staff reportsApril 22, 2014

— Borough Council passed an ordinance at its meeting Monday that allows officials to establish an opt-in “do not disturb” list for door-to-door solicitation.

When vendors request solicitation licenses from the borough, they will now also be given the list of people that don’t want to be visited. Violation of the ordinance could result in loss of license, Borough Manager Ralph Stewart said.

The borough will announce the process for opting-into the list later this week, he said.
