High school girls’ track and field: Penns Valley romps to two wins

— Penns Valley swept a tri-meet with wins over Huntingdon and Clearfield on Tuesday.

The Rams beat Clearfield 82-68 and beat Huntingdon 101-49 on a day where five different Rams won individual events.

Kayla Bracken turned in a first-place finish in the 110-meter hurdles when she crossed the finish line in 17.66. Meanwhile, Destiny Andrus, Naomi Olsen-Zelman, Kelsey Sweitzer and Chelsea Emel added individual wins. Andrus won the 100-meter run in 13.3 while Olsen-Zelman finished the 300 hurdles in 51.3. Sweitzer turned in a meet-best 15-4 in the long jump and Emel won two events — the shot put and discus — with distances of 35-4 1/2 and 105-6, respectively.
