High school baseball: Central cruises past Philipsburg-Osceola

— Philipsburg-Osceola was doomed by a poor defensive performance, committing six errors in a 16-1 loss to Central in four innings Wednesday.

Mounties starting pitcher Mitchell Winters allowed just one hit but walked six en route to allowing 10 runs in two innings. Reliever John Harpster gave up six runs on five hits. Philipsburg-Osceola (2-6) trailed 11-1 after three innings, and the Dragons (12-0) added five runs with one out in the fourth to end the game.

Winters drove in Travis Arnold for Philipsburg-Osceola’s lone run.
