High school boys’ track: Philipsburg-Osceola ties West Branch, falls to Central Mountain

— Philipsburg-Osceola got a handful of individual wins but couldn’t come away with an overall team win in a tri-meet with West Branch and Central Mountain on Thursday.

The Mounties dropped the meet to Central Mountain 101-49 and tied West Branch 73-73.

Nick Patrick, Tim Eason and Collin Maurer led the Mounties with wins in their respective events. Patrick won the 1,600-meter run with a time of 5:00.1 and turned in the meet’s best pole vault with a height of 11 feet, 3 inches. Eason won the 800-meter run in 2:09.8. Maurer won the triple jump with a leap of 42-10.

The Mounties won the 1,600-meter relay.
