Our View | Thumbs up

April 26, 2014

Thumbs up: To Penn State and other organizations that allowed employees to participate in bring-your-child-to-work-day activities Thursday. The effort allows for a learning opportunity for the youngsters, who can explore potential careers, and an important bonding time for parents.

Thumbs up: To all of the volunteers honored at Thursday’s Rose Cologne dinner, with a special nod to Ann Walker, who received the Ann Graybill Cook Volunteer of Distinction Award. The event brings together agencies connected with Centre County Council for Human Services.

Thumbs up: To Thursday’s Public Issues Forum on the topic of standardized school testing. This is a topic that can be divisive. But the 100 or so who attended the session at Schlow Library could hear various viewpoints to help them understand and better develop their own opinions.
