Police: Laundromat burglars caught on tape

From CDT staff reportsMay 1, 2014

Police have released additional information on a theft at a local laundromat last month.

According to State College police, more than $500 was stolen from a change machine at the Wash & Dry, 256 W. Hamilton Ave., around 11:20 p.m. April 21.

Police said the laundromat’s video surveillance system shows two unknown white males enter the business and make “numerous trips to the change machine.”

The first man tampered with the change machine while the second acted as a lookout at the front of the store.

The first suspect was described as a white male, short and stocky, in his mid-20s with brown hair and a goatee, wearing glasses and a black baseball cap, gray hoodie and black pants.

The second suspect was a tall, thin white male, in his 20s, with light-colored, possibly red, hair, wearing a baseball cap, a black Air Jordan hoodie and black pants.

Anyone with information is asked to contact State College police at 234-7150 or submit an anonymous tip online.
