Details released about State College restaurant incident

Additional information has been released about a January incident at a local restaurant.

State College police responded to a fight at Mama Mia’s, 128 E. College Ave., on Jan. 18 around 2:35 a.m.

When they arrived, police said, a man already had fled, crossing the street toward the Penn State campus.

At least one employee is noted as a victim.

According to police, the employee stated that he man “became disorderly inside the restaurant and started bothering female patrons. The suspect was told he had to leave, and the male became more disorderly and belligerent. The suspect assaulted an employee and threatened the staff. As the suspect exited the restaurant, he flipped over a table, causing damage, and punched a glass window.”

Police describe the suspect as a black, college-aged male wearing a khaki jacket with elbow patches, khaki pants or jeans, approximately 5 feet, 10 inches, with an athletic build.
