Our View | Thumbs up

May 2, 2014

Thumbs up: To Wednesday’s Commonwealth Court decision to deny an NCAA request to challenge the constitutionality of the Endowment Act. The law was passed in an effort by Pennsylvania lawmakers to keep the Sandusky scandal-related fines against Penn State in the state.

Thumbs up: To Penn State’s “good shape.” University President Rodney Erickson, addressing the Faculty Senate on Tuesday, said 119,000 applications had been received this year (up by about 12,000 from last year) and that he was leaving the university in “very good shape.”

Thumbs up: To Penn State men’s tennis players Leonard Stakhovsky and Russell Bader for earning individual bids to compete for a national championship. The rest of the group also earned a bid to compete for a national team title. Advantage: Nittany Lions.
