Philipsburg woman alleges sexual assault in 2012

A Philipsburg woman is reporting an incident of sexual assault.

According to state police at Philipsburg, the victim, a 20-year-old woman, contacted police and advised them that she had been sexually assaulted over a “span of hours” in July-August 2012.

Police said the incident occurred at a residence in Philipsburg and the alleged suspect was a person known to the victim.

An investigation is continuing.
