Indecent assault reported at Penn State

From CDT staff reportsMay 3, 2014

Penn State campus police said that an indecent assault was reported on campus Saturday afternoon.

A police report said the alleged assault occurred sometime between 1:45 a.m. and 2 a.m. Saturday in McElwain Hall, a resident hall near Simmons Hall.

The report said the victim, a student, told officials that an unknown male in the south loading dock area of McElwain Hall inappropriately touched them.

The suspect, unknown to the victim, is described as a college-aged white male, five feet, five inches tall, with dark hair and thick eyebrows. The suspect was wearing a dark sweatshirt and dark sweatpants.

Police additionally reported that the suspect might be a “possible threat to the community.”

Officials urge students to avoid traveling alone at night, but if that’s not possible, to use the “buddy system” or Safe Walk service.
