Two people were transported to hospitals outside of Centre County on Friday night after a motorcycle accident near Bellefonte.

Spring Township police said that around 8:30 p.m. Friday, officers were dispatched to the scene of an accident near the 200 block of Jacksonville Road.

Police reportedly found Chester Stone II, 48, of Bellefonte, was driving a Harley Davidson motorcycle that he purchased earlier in the day.

Police said Stone lost control during a turn and hit a rock embankment on the right side of the road. He and the passenger, Sara Swisher, 32, of Bellefonte, were thrown from the motorcycle.

The accident report said both were taken by helicopter to UPMC Altoona for injuries. Stone, who was not wearing a helmet, was then transferred to Allegheny Hospital in Pittsburgh with severe head and neck injuries. His status was unknown.

Swisher was wearing a helmet and did not suffer life-threatening injuries, police said.
