May 6, 2014

Defenseman Mark Yanis has decided to leave the Penn State men’s hockey team.

The rising junior posted a short statement on his Facebook page Monday that he would be leaving the school after finishing his final exams this week.

“I will not be finishing my last 2 years of collegiate hockey here at Penn State University,” Yanis wrote. “I will be taking my talents back to finsh my junior career and find another wonderful school like this place I am leaving on Wednesday.”

After seeing action in 15 games with four goals and five assists as a freshman, Yanis played 23 games and picked up three assists this past season.
