High school softball: Confer deals Bellefonte to victory over Brookville

— Stevi Confer had a solid effort in the circle while Bellefonte used a six-run third inning to drop Brookville 8-1 Tuesday.

Confer struck out 11, walked one and gave up just three hits — two to her counterpart Hannah Simpson.

Bellefonte (9-6) strung together five straight singles to open the third, With RBI singles for Vanessa Cooper, Tara Baney and Liz Lin. Lin added another RBI single in the fourth after a Cooper double.

“Stevi pitched a good game, and the defense was solid behind her,” Bellefonte coach Gregg Kohlhepp said. “It was a very solid effort all the way around.”
