High school baseball: Ishler leads State College to win over Red Land

From CDT staff reportsMay 8, 2014

— Bailey Ishler pitched a gem, Ken Craig was nearly flawless in relief and the State College Little Lions got just enough offense to beat Red Land 3-1 on Wednesday.

Ishler picked up the win with a five-inning effort in which he gave up just one run on four hits with four strikeouts. Craig relieved Ishler in the sixth inning and allowed just one hit with two strikeouts. Offensively, the Little Lions (12-3) racked up seven hits with Caleb Walls and Alec Lose picking up an RBI each.

State College coach Bill Tussey said the game had a playoff feel to it.

“You had two real good teams and any time you have two good teams with good pitching and good defense you have to battle for it,” State College coach Bill Tussey said. “Both pitchers did a really good job and the defense played well and we were able to score a couple of runs.”
