— Penns Valley took advantage of solid outings from two pitchers to sweep an afternoon doubleheader with Huntingdon on Wednesday.

The Lady Rams (6-9) used a two-hit effort from Emma Kubalak to keep the Bearcats at bay in Game 1. Kubalak went the distance and led Penns Valley to a 4-2 win with four strikeouts.

Harley Hess took the mound for Game 2 and gave up just one hit over five innings with five strikeouts in the 12-0 win.

“Both of our pitchers pitched very well and it was two good wins for us,” Penns Valley coach Don Lucas said. “We hit the ball in the second game very well and did what we needed to do in the first game.”
