High school baseball: Bellefonte’s Mathieu solid on mound for Red Raiders in win

From CDT staff reportsMay 9, 2014

— Logan Mathieu scattered five hits in a shutout effort and Bellefonte beat Hollidaysburg 5-0 on Wednesday.

The Red Raiders got started quickly when Andrew Stover was hit with a ball to begin the game. Stover stole second then scored on a Taylor Butts sacrifice fly. The early lead was enough and Mathieu shut Hollidaysburg down the rest of the way. Mathieu struck out seven batters and retired nine of the last 11 batters he faced.

Butts chipped in two RBIs while Zach Musser also added a pair of RBIs for Bellefonte.
