Penn Stater celebrates 20th year

The Penn Stater Conference Center Hotel celebrated its 20th anniversary Wednesday.

According to a report from Penn State, the center opened May 7, 1994.

The center was built for $43 million, and was operated by the Scanticon International Inc. and called the Penn State Scanticon Conference Center Hotel. In 1997 it was taken over by the university and renamed The Penn Stater, the report said.
