Penn State football: Nittany Lions land another recruit

From CDT staff reportsMay 10, 2014

Penn State picked up another verbal commitment in the 2015 football recruiting class on Saturday.

Ayron Monroe, a safety from St. John’s College in Washington, D.C., announced his intention to play for Penn State on Twitter.

Listed at 6-feet, 195 pounds, Monroe is considered a three-star prospect by 24-7 Sports and Rivals.com. His committment — which is non-binding until he signs a National Letter of Intent — gives Penn State 16 commits so far. He’s the second safety to commit to Penn State after Suffield, Conn.’s Jarvis Miller did so in February.

Monroe had offers from Iowa, Maryland, Nebraska, Boston College and Virginia Tech among others.
