High school baseball: Bald Eagle Area drops close contest to Jersey Shore

May 12, 2014

— Jersey Shore’s Christian Rishel’s two-run home run in the third inning provided the difference in a 3-1 win over Bald Eagle Area on Monday.

The Eagles (12-5) got a solid outing from Colton Comly, who pitched six innings, giving up the three runs on six hits. He walked three but struck out four. Bryce Greene went 2 for 4 and Jordan Kobularcik drove in BEA’s lone run.

“Comly threw nice game for us,” Eagles coach Jim Gardner said. “We hit the ball well but it was just one of those days.”

Dylan Hamm scattered six hits over five innings in the win for the Bulldogs (17-2).
