Penn State football: Homecoming game with Northwestern to kick off at noon

— Penn State’s Sept. 27 Homecoming football game against Northwestern will kick off at noon in Beaver Stadium.

The Big Ten Network, ESPN or ESPN2 will televise game, Penn State announced Tuesday.

Penn State’s Homecoming game record is 68-21-5 (17-4 since joining the Big Ten Conference in 1993), and the Nittany Lions won their two previous Homecoming games against the Wildcats, in 2002 and 2012.

The Northwestern game is Penn State’s fifth announced kick time for the 2014 season.

Coach James Franklin and the Lions will open the season Aug. 30 against the University of Central Florida in the Croke Park Classic in Dublin, Ireland.
