High school softball: State College rolls past rival Altoona

— State College pounded out 12 hits and cruised to a 13-2 win over Altoona in five innings on Wednesday.

Corey Marfitt went 4-for-4 and scored two runs, and Laura Harris finished 2-for-3 with a home run to lead the Lady Little Lions (11-9). Lexi Mattivi went 2-for-4 for State College, and teammate Jenna Peterson had a two-run double for her first career varsity hit.

“We hit all up and down the lineup,” Lady Little Lions coach Mike Harper said. “When you do that, good things are gonna happen for you.”

Karli Nolan allowed five hits in five innings to earn the win for State College.
