CPI students graduate with 100 percent job placement rate

From CDT staff reportsMay 15, 2014

Students at Central Pennsylvania Institute of Science and Technology’s heating, ventilation and air conditioning program graduated April 30 with a 100 percent job placement rate.

CPI said in a statement that the 900-hour education and technical training course prepared students for work with basic residential and commercial heating, ventilation, air conditioning, refrigeration and pipe fitting. Students also learned plumbing, mechanical, building codes, design schematics, blueprints, and hazardous materials and gas handling techniques.

Marianne Hazel, adult and post-secondary program manager, said this is CPI’s first class to have a 100 percent job placement at the time of graduation.

“It was a pleasure to see so many families at graduation offering their support and congratulations,” Hazel said. “I told them that I am especially proud of this training program, as my pop-pop was a plumber, my dad was a plumber and my brother is a plumber. The skills and services that our HVAC program graduates will provide to our community are important for both businesses and residents.”
