High school girls’ lacrosse: State College earns five all-star selections

May 17, 2014

Five State College girls’ lacrosse players were named to the Mid Penn’s All-Star team the conference announced Friday.

Seniors Carrie Mahon and Caitlin McGlaughlin and junior Kendall Loviscky were tabbed first-teamers while junior Renee Olivett and sophomore Caroline Friberg were selected to the second team.

Junior Olivia Stahl earned an honorable mention.

Mahon, a midfielder, will attend Marquette University in the fall and play on the Marquette women’s lacrosse team. McGlaughlin, a defender, will attempt to walk on to the Naval Academy’s team. Loviscky committed to play at IUP.

State College ran roughshod over the rest of the Mid Penn for most of the season. The Lady Little Lions finished 8-1 in Mid Penn play with their only loss coming to Cumberland Valley.
