On Centre: Penns Valley | Green Drake Gallery offers night of poetry, music

May 18, 2014

The Green Drake Gallery and Arts Center will be the place to be in Millheim this week.

The art gallery, 101 W. Main St., will host its next Poetry Night on Friday.

Friday’s program begins at 7 p.m. with local poetry by Jack Troy and Robin Becker, and an open mic to follow.

The event is free to the public, but donations are encouraged.

Johanna Kodlick and Anthony Latt, of Runaway Stroller, will also perform for their first show in Millheim at 9 p.m. Tickets are available at the door for $8.

The duo’s music is described as a mix of rock and blues. To RSVP, contact the Green Drake Gallery at 422-8461.

Jam session

On Monday, musicians can participate in the jazz workshop/jam in the stage area of the main gallery. The session will begin at 7:30 p.m.

According to the gallery’s Facebook page, this will be the last jazz jam until September, but a rhythm/drum circle may take its place during the summer.
