State College police are investigating two arsons late Sunday night in the same area of the borough. One of them, at Windsor Court, involved a large wooden shed a few feet from the residence. “The shed was fully engulfed in flames and was completely destroyed by the fire,” police said.

Police are looking for witnesses to recent local arson cases.

State College police put out a statement Friday saying that they are seeking the identities of four individuals who were in a vehicle in the 1000 block of Bayberry Drive shortly after 11 p.m. Sunday.

That’s about the time that a fire was set at 1037 Bayberry Drive. Police said perpetrators set fire to wooden furniture on the porch using an accelerant that was also found on the siding of the home.

“These individuals are not suspects but potential witnesses, and two of the individuals are credited with alerting the homeowner of 1037 Bayberry Drive,” Lt. Keith Robb wrote in an email.

The Bayberry home was the second blaze that night. Another home in the Orchard Park area with a backyard near the same bike path that runs behind the Bayberry home was targeted about 15 minutes earlier. A shed at the 712 Windsor Court home was destroyed by fire.

Anyone with information on the case or about the identities of the potential witnesses should contact police at 234-7150.
