The Millheim Business Community will host the Millheim Mayfly Festival on June 6 and 7.
Spokeswoman Lisa Marshall said the festival is a family-friendly weekend of shopping, music, art, food and “general merriment” for residents and visitors.
“It’s an event-filled weekend, celebrating summer in one of the most interesting small towns in central Pennsylvania,” she said.
In its second year, the festival includes more shopping, more live street music and more children’s activities than before, Marshall said.
It will also highlight other activities like fishing, archery, chainsaw carving and more, with demonstrations throughout town.
Bremen Town Ballroom will host a “food court,” with food from the Hummingbird Room, Sweet Creek Bakers and Ecovents. On Saturday, the festival will include activities at Muddy Paws Marsh and the Millheim Farmers Market.
Fountain Park’s gazebo will offer a variety of children’s activities between 11 a.m. and 4 p.m. Saturday, including helping to create a new mural for downtown Millheim. In addition, there will be children’s music, a story time and craft making, Marshall said.
The festival will benefit WSOV, The Sounds of the Valleys — the Millheim-based low-power FM community radio station.
From 2 to 4 p.m. June 7, WSOV will be conducting live interviews regarding Millheim in its heyday from a temporary studio set up in the window of the Penns Valley Veterinary Clinic.
