Ruff Riders Poker Run supports Happy Valley Animals in Need

From CDT staff reportsMay 29, 2014

If you like a good ride — and man’s best friend — a weekend event might be right up your alley.

A group of Philipsburg-area animal lovers are throwing their support to the Happy Valley Animals in Need by putting together the Ruff Riders Poker Run on Saturday.

The 96-mile circuit will raise money for the nonprofit by bringing motorcycle riders, car enthusiasts and others together for a fun, progressive ride that kicks off in Philipsburg at Your Furniture for Less on U.S. Route 322 before heading out for stops at the Bellefonte Elks Club, Centre Hall American Legion, #1 Cycle Center Harley Davidson and Tyrone Elks before finishing up at the Philipsburg Elks for a final celebration with music from Chuck Navasky’s band, Rockin’ Horse.

Registration is $20 per rider or $35 per couple, and the event will be held rain or shine. Registration will open at 9 a.m. The riders will take off at 11 a.m.

HVAIN supports efforts to rescue animals of all kinds. Organizers hope to raise enough money to buy a van for the nonprofit.
