Centre County League Baseball: Clarence pounds Howard in five innings

HOWARD Clarence used a 12-run fifth inning to shut the door on Howard 19-7 in five innings of a Centre County League make-up game on Friday.

The Mounties led 7-6 going into the fifth inning before exploding for those runs. Dylan Shaw and Mike Lutz both hit grand slams for Clarence. Shaw finished with five RBIs to lead the team while Lutz had four in the game.

Derek Jabco fell a home run shy of the cycle for the Mounties.

Evan Gettig had a double and 2 singles for the Hawks, who were led by Mike Surovec’s two RBIs.
