5-foot alligator living in Boalsburg has new home

From CDT staff reportsJune 2, 2014

A 5-foot alligator that had apparently outgrown its home on Honeysuckle Drive in Boalsburg made some waves this weekend on Craigslist.

State College police and Game Commission officials saw a post on the website offering the creature, and became concerned the animal could be released into the wild if a buyer did not step forward.

Authorities stepped in and helped find it a new home — Robinson’s Exotic Animals in Julian.

The alligator was removed from its pond this weekend and transported to the animal shelter it will now call home, police said.

No charges were filed in the case.
