Board members also discussed potentially realigning Plaza Drive and building a Logan Avenue connector road but, agreeing they needed more information, took no action in defining either part of the campus.

As explained Monday, the estimated project budget is $114,877,881, with the South Building accounting for about $100 million.

Beddia told board members that the alternate bids might come up during the construction process if changes are necessary, but that his objective would be to help the district come under budget for the project.

“Our goal is to tell you what things are required, and what things are desired, and figure out how to put a bid package to marry those two,” he said.

The board next meets June 9.
