Letter | Where is the World Cup?

June 16, 2014

Shame on the CDT’s coverage of the biggest sporting event in the world, by far. I expected at least a mention on Friday’s front page of the opening game of the World Cup. Then I went to the sports section and thought it would be on that front page (nothing but local sports — which I’m fine with, and the U.S. Open?). Not even a small article anywhere to be found except a box score!

No other sports come even close to people following the World Cup, even in the United States, and for your information, even here in State College. Check the viewership of the games on TV and be sure to follow it for the whole month.
