American Legion Baseball: State College tops Bellefonte

— Tristen Ballenger tossed a three-hitter as State College won its first American Legion baseball game of the season with a 10-0 rout of Bellefonte in six innings on Tuesday.

Ballenger struck out nine and walked two in the triumph for State College (1-5).

Leading 1-0, Tyler Hall smacked a two-run single in the second. Chris Boal then delivered the big hit, a three-run triple in the fourth.

Derek Van Horn and J.D. Bergman had three singles each to pace a 12-hit attack for State College. Boal and Oliver Daily added two hits each.

Noah Perryman’s double was the lone extra-base hit for Bellefonte (4-5). Bellefonte begins play in the West Virginia Hardball Classic on Thursday with a 4 p.m. clash against Moundsville, W. Va.
