Letter to the Editor | Letter shouldn’t have run

June 21, 2014

I read with dismay in the CDT a letter from Bernie McCue.

I am not making a judgment about his opinion, but I question the integrity of the CDT to publish a letter that is so offensive in language. His use of words disturbs me as it is not what he said, but the way he said it.

It seems to me that there might have been other letters with the same opinion as that of McCue’s, and those letters expressed opinions with the best use of the English language.

It is a horrid example for young people, learning good communication skills, and correct grammar to see in print the use of words used in McCue’s letter. Surely, journalism needs to be held to the highest standards of word usage.

I am disappointed in the CDT editorial review.
