Centre County Baseball League: Philipsburg thumps Blanchard

— Philipsburg struck for five runs in the top of the first and cruised to a 10-3 triumph against Blanchard on Monday.

With two outs and the bases loaded, Tyler Good cracked a two-run single and another run scored on an error on the play. Jake Belinda doubled home Good and came home on Robbie Smith’s double.

Blanchard got to within 5-2 in the third as Kyle Miller and Zach Rote hit RBI singles. Parker Watson smacked a solo homer for Philipsburg in the fourth and the Pirates tacked on three more in the fifth. Good had a RBI single and Belinda followed with a two-run single in the inning.

Watson went six innings to earn the win on the mound. Belinda had two doubles and a single to lead Philipsburg’s 13-hit attack. Watson, AJ Robinson and Good had two hits each. Ryan Hill had three singles and Dylan Kerstetter had two hits for the Bees.
