Stolen truck reported in Rush Township crash

June 24, 2014

State police at Philipsburg are investigating the crash of a stolen vehicle in Rush Township.

A police report said the victim — a 49-year-old man from Wallaceton — reported that his green 1997 Mazda pickup truck was stolen Saturday night.

The vehicle was parked at Cold Stream Park late Saturday, where the victim left the vehicle while he and a friend went to State College to visit someone.

The report said when the victim returned to get his vehicle on Sunday night it was gone.

Around 1:30 p.m. Sunday before the report of the stolen vehicle, police received a report that the same described truck crashed over an embankment on Casanova Road, midway between Casanova and Black Moshannon State Park.

There was no suspect at the scene, police said.
