Snow Shoe man charged with firing gun inside bedroom

From CDT staff reportsJune 29, 2014

A Snow Shoe man is in Centre County prison after he allegedly fired a gun at the floor of a bedroom where his wife lay in bed.

Theodore Shay, 25, and his wife had been drinking when they began arguing about 5:45 a.m. Saturday, state police at Rockview said. Shay brought a .357-caliber revolver into the room and fired it near his feet, police said. He then fled the Snow Shoe residence.

He was taken into custody soon after, police said. He faces a felony weapons charge and misdemeanor charges of simple assault and reckless endangerment. District Judge Thomas Jordan arraigned Shay and set bail at $150,000.

A preliminary hearing is scheduled for Wednesday.
