American Legion baseball: Bellefonte falls to Mifflin County

— Mifflin County’s Russ Torquato won a pitcher’s duel with Bellefonte’s Taylor Smith as the Bandits fell 2-1 in American Legion baseball action Tuesday.

Torquato allowed just four singles — by Ryan McElwee, Adam Kuhn, Noah Perryman and Anthony Montressor — while walking two and striking out six. Bellefonte’s lone run came on a bases-loaded walk in the second inning.

Smith walked one and struck out two. Lucas McKay’s two-run triple in the first inning provided all of Mifflin County’s scoring.

Bellefonte fell to 10-11.
