American Legion baseball: State College whips Philipsburg

— State College scored multiple runs in each of its four at-bats as Post 245 pounded Philipsburg 18-2 in four innings in American Legion baseball Tuesday.

Kenny Craig had two singles and three RBIs to lead the onslaught. Calvin Sicher added two singles and two RBIs, while Jonathan Bergman had a triple and drove in two.

After giving up two runs on a balk and a groundout in the first inning, Tristen Ballenger shut out Philipsburg from there. Ballenger tossed a three-hitter with four strikeouts.

State College (10-7) has won 10 of its last 12 games.
